For several days, the entire capital, the sports environment and beyond, has been buzzing with news related to the health condition of one of the football icons of Tirana and the Albanian national team, Agustin Kola.
Even though at the age of 66, Kola's name remains historically linked to sports, in the years after he left playing football, he never broke away from sports activity, as if to show that he had a hard time saying stop to high-level sports training despite the passing years, until it was his body that gave him a signal.
In an interview for "Top Channel", Agustin Kola, who has just been released from intensive care, but is still hospitalized at the QSUT, has his first message for the fans and friends who have been so interested.
" To be honest, I love you very much, I am very well, these tears come from joy, I love you very much, they are tears of joy, not of pain. Without you, what would I be ...", says Kola.
The symptoms began about 13 days ago, forcing Agustin Kola to undergo intensive treatment at the "Mother Teresa" University Hospital Center.
" My condition is very good and to be honest, the doctors are also very good, from the nurses, the cleaners to everyone. I am not the servile type, I say these things from the heart. To be honest, they have almost stopped by me, they have known me, we have stopped and talked, but sometimes even words heal you ," he says.
But what really brought the so-called iron man, inseparable from sports, to the doors of intensive therapy?
" I had a stomach problem so we have to be careful with food even though I don't have a big burden. I have been burdened with sports, but again, sports are beautiful, they give you life ."
