Germany breaks the World Cup curse, the last time the "Panzers" made it past the groups

The German national team has booked its ticket to the knockout stage of the 2026 World Cup, leaving behind the difficult period that had accompanied them in the last two editions of the tournament.

After consecutive failures at the 2018 Russia World Cup and the 2022 Qatar World Cup, where they were eliminated in the group stage, the German team has managed to return to the competition. A 2-1 victory over Ivory Coast has secured the "Panzers" passage to the round of 32 of the competition.

For Germany, this is the first qualification from the group stage at a World Cup since 2014. In that edition, held in Brazil, the Germans crowned one of the greatest successes in their history, winning the world champion title after triumphing in the final against Argentina.

2026 (USA, Canada, Mexico) – Secures qualification to the round of 32.
2022 (Qatar) – Eliminated in the group stage.
2018 (Russia) – Eliminated in the group stage.
2014 (Brazil) – Advances from the group stage and is declared world champion.
