France appears to be a contender for the World Cup, "threatening" even its main rivals for the prestigious trophy. The "Roosters" defeated Norway 1-4 in Massachusetts thanks to an exceptional performance by Osman Dembele and close Group I with 9 full points, qualifying together with Norway, which closed the group in second place.

The French started the match at a high pace and took the lead in the 7th minute. After an assist from Kylian Mbappe, Dembele penetrated the area beautifully and beat the opposing goalkeeper for 1-0.

In the 20th minute, the PSG striker doubled the lead with a powerful shot from distance, again after a crucial pass from Mbappe.

Norway responded immediately and reduced the deficit just a minute later, when Telo Asgard scored to make it 2-1. However, in the 32nd minute, Dembele completed his hat-trick with a precise left-footed shot, restoring France's two-goal lead.

The second half started with hope for Norway, but it was not used as it should have been by the Nordics. In the 48th minute, Bob won a penalty in the area after a foul caused by Teo Hernandez.

2 minutes later, Larsen took the penalty kick, but Menjo hypnotized him and managed to save the Norwegian's penalty.

When it was thought that the match would end here, Desire Due found the fourth goal for France, completing the "poker" for Didier Deschamps' team.

Norwegian star Erling Haaland did not play a single minute in this match against his rival, Kylian Mbappe.

In the other Group I match, Senegal won 5-0 against Iraq. Habib Diarra scored the only goal of the first half in the 4th minute.

The second 45 minutes started with 2 quick goals from the Africans. In the 56th minute, Ismaila Sarr doubled the lead, while 3 minutes later, Gueje scored the third goal.

Senegal didn't stop there and in the 71st minute scored the fourth goal again with Gueje, who completed his personal double in this match.

In the 82nd minute of the match, Ilman Ndiaje scored the fifth goal for Senegal.

The situation for Iraq became complicated in the 10th minute, when Rebin Sulaka was sent off after a tackle on Sadio Mane, as the last player in defense.

After the completion of 3 matches, the situation is as follows:

Group I

1-France 9 points

2-Norway 6 points

3-Senegal 3 points

4-Iraq 0 points
