Egnatia's embarrassing performance in the Champions League. The team from Rrogozhina was defeated by Breidablik with a score of 5-0.
The Icelandic champions opened the scoring in the 15th minute through Thorsteinson, after a “killer” counterattack. In the 23rd minute, Edlir Tetova’s team was shaken again. The Icelanders found the net through Einarson.
4 minutes later, Egnatia ruined everything! The home team scored the third goal, after amateur defensive mistakes by the Rrogozhina team.
There was no end to the disintegration of Egnatia's defense! In the 38th minute, goalkeeper Dajsinani stopped a shot towards the goal but not the second one from Einarson, which brought the score to 4-0!
The locals didn't stop there, taking advantage of the spaces allowed by the Rrogozhina team, with Omarson shooting from outside the area and beating Dajsinan in the 69th minute.
After the humiliating elimination in the first round of the Champions League, Egnatia will continue its European adventure in the Conference League.
The Albanian champions will face the loser of the Dinamo Minsk-Ludogorets match, a valuable challenge for the first round of the Champions League. The first match between these two teams ended with the Bulgarians winning 0-1.
