Important news comes from Germany, where midfielder Lennart Karl has suffered an injury that will force him to miss the World Cup. Immediately after the confirmation of his absence, discussions began in the German media about the footballer who will take the vacated place in the team.
Since Karl is activated in the role of attacking midfielder, a position also covered by Brajan Gruda, the name of the footballer of Albanian origin was mentioned as one of the possible alternatives. However, according to reports in the German newspaper "Bild", Gruda is not coach Julian Nagelsmann's choice to replace Karl.
According to the same source, the vacant spot is expected to be entrusted to Asan Cuedraogo. The 20-year-old footballer, who plays for Leipzig, has already received an invitation from the German national team and is counting on an appearance with the national team.
Cuedraogo has not had an easy season, missing a significant part of the championship due to injuries, recording few minutes in the Bundesliga. However, Karl's injury has paved the way for his return to the national team's plans.
On the other hand, this development is seen as a clear signal for Brian Grude. The 22-year-old midfielder continues to remain outside Nagelsmann's plans, despite the lack of a player who is activated in the same role.
This situation could also affect Gruda's future, bringing back into discussion the possibility of him considering representing Albania at the national level.
