Barcelona are expected to make a big move for a centre-back next summer, following the departure of Inigo Martinez to Al-Nassr in Saudi Arabia. The Catalans currently have only four options available and due to financial difficulties will not bring in a replacement this summer, expecting to take advantage of the free transfer market next summer.
One of the most surprising names to be linked with the Blaugrana is that of Ibrahima Konate. The French Liverpool defender is in the final year of his contract at Anfield and has so far shown no desire to renew, making him a hot target for the big clubs.
Real Madrid have shown serious interest in Konate and are considering stepping in this summer to secure his services, but according to reports from Sempre Barca, Barcelona have also begun preliminary talks with the player's representatives. Konate, on the other hand, is seen as open to a move to the "Spotify Camp Nou", where he would aim to become a starter alongside Pau Cubarsi and Ronald Araujo.
