Actor Kevin Spacey has said he believes his career is gradually recovering, after several difficult years marked by allegations of sexual harassment and assault, which had a major impact on his personal and professional life.
In an interview on the "Club Random" podcast, Spacey said he feels that the public's perception of him has begun to change, especially after he was declared innocent in the trials where he faced various charges.
Speaking about his past behavior, the actor admitted that on some occasions he had crossed the line with flirting, but denied that he was the person he was portrayed to be in public.
"I never said there wasn't 'fire.' It just wasn't a big fire. I flirted with a lot of men," Spacey said, adding that some of the allegations, according to him, have been exaggerated or distorted.
He also commented on the case brought by actor Anthony Rapp, recalling that a New York court ruled that he was not civilly liable for the claims brought against him.
Spacey revealed that after the scandal broke out, he lost almost everything, including his role in the series "House of Cards", Hollywood projects and his home.
However, he said that in recent years he has resumed working on European films and independent productions, considering this as a step towards returning to the cinema industry.
During the interview, the actor also spoke about his sexual orientation, admitting that for many years he kept the fact that he was homosexual a secret, even though, according to him, the people closest to him already knew.
