Prince Andrew is back in the spotlight over the Epstein scandal. A new revelation has shed new light on the prince's controversial connections.
The BBC reports that in 2006, at his daughter's 18th birthday party, he hosted three of the most controversial figures in the world of scandals, Jeffrey Epstein, Ghislaine Maxwell and producer Harvey Weinstein, at his Royal Lodge residence.
The three visited the prince's home before attending a masquerade ball at Windsor Castle, just days before Epstein's arrest for abusing a minor in Florida.
In a previous interview, Andrew said he was unaware of the Epstein investigation when the invitation was sent. But after the publication of Virginia Giuffre's memoir, which accuses the prince of forced sexual intercourse, public pressure on him has increased significantly.
Epstein and Maxwell have previously been seen at other royal residences including Balmoral and Sandringham, while Andrew has admitted to staying at their properties in the US and the Caribbean.
Meanwhile, new questions are being raised over how the prince finances his living, as he lives in the Royal Lodge almost rent-free while no longer a working member of the royal family.
Buckingham Palace has not yet commented, while the latest revelation risks putting Prince Andrew back at the center of a new public and legal storm.
