This particular position belongs to Kevin Schmidt, whose job consists of changing a light bulb twice a year.
High financial reward
The salary that Kevin receives for installing this lamp is 40,000 euros per year, however the most important element of this job is the high risk, as the lamp must be installed at a height of 450 meters on a telecommunications tower.
Although this process is accompanied by important safety measures, it is a job that carries a lot of risk, which is why the salary is so high. Usually the lamp is replaced every six months, if there is no problem, so Kevin receives 20,000 euros for each climb.
Given the high-risk nature of the job, at 450 meters above sea level, Kevin Schmidt has a long list of safety measures to avoid accidents. He gradually climbs the tower's stairs, wearing a safety harness that adjusts as he goes up.
Although it is an unusual job, Schmidt has stated that he has now turned it into a routine and often stops to admire the view or send a photo to his wife.

These antenna towers are not only used for communications, but also for air traffic. The light emitted by the lamps on top of these towers serves to warn airplanes that there is a high altitude in that direction. This avoids accidents.
Kevin Schmidt's job replacing these bulbs is very important, although he hasn't always been involved in it.
