A new 'brain chip for memory cure' seems to be taking the internet by storm.
The 'Nubbin' chip created by TCKR Systems allows you to 'enter virtual consciousness', meaning you can revisit dreams and moments in your life.
“Perfect reality? It's all in your head,” their website reads. “Reality is boring. Time for something better.”
It even has its own TikTok page with over 17,000 followers and has recruited a number of celebrities and influencers to do "advertisements" for them, including Rylan Clark, player Cadaea, and even Curry's official account.
In the clips, users press the button on their Nubbin, which is positioned on their cheekbones, before their eyes turn white and they end up in another world, unaware of where they are in real life.
Their ads have appeared on YouTube, their LinkedIn page, and even on billboards.
"Why are their eyes turning white? This is not technology, but possession and black magic," wrote one concerned person in the comments of a video.
“Hell, I signed up for TikTok in the year 2076,” added another. Someone else joked: “I need this so I can mentally travel to another place.”
But, despite its realistic nature, we can confirm that Nubbin is not real.
In fact, it's all an elaborate (and quite expensive) PR stunt for the upcoming Netflix series, Black Mirror.
TCKR Systems is the name of the company that is used in San Junipero and is used to connect the real world with the digital world.
It is also mentioned in the episodes "Playtest" and "Black Museum".
It's thought to play a big role in the upcoming 7th season, more specifically in "Eulogy," "Hotel Reverie," and the sequel to "USS Callister," and this stunt to convince people that this terrifying technology is being brought to life has certainly convinced us to follow it.
