Last Saturday, the artist appeared in a platinum blonde look and a silver dress on the red carpet.
Critics on social media commented on the change in her appearance and said that she looked whiter than usual.
Afterward, in a lengthy Instagram post, Tina Knowles defended her daughter and said the comments were racist.
She also said that people who accuse Beyonce of bleaching her skin are just "stupid" and "ignorant".
The 69-year-old also said she was "tired" of people attacking her daughter. She admitted that Beyonce would be upset with her for the post, but said she was "fed up" with the criticism.
