Famous actor Can Yaman has reacted harshly to veteran producer Faruk Turgut, after the latter declared that he would never collaborate with the actor again.
The founder of the production house Gold Film, in an interview with journalist Izet Çapa, was asked if he would work with the Turkish star again. His answer was firm.
"No," said Turgut, adding that, although the series Erkenci Kuş (Morning Bird) was a great success, collaborating with Can Yaman had been difficult due to the actor's behavior and statements after he became famous.
The producer's statement immediately prompted a reaction from Can Yaman, who published a long message on social media.
"Oh dear, poor Faruk Turgut. If I knew, I would send him flowers. Brain death has occurred. May God rest his soul," the actor wrote, using ironic and harsh tones.
Yaman further accused the producer of continuing to speak against him after he decided to continue his career with Ay Yapım and not Gold Film. According to the actor, Turgut had tried to hinder his collaboration with Disney, claiming that there was an agreement between them.
Can Yaman denied these claims, stressing that such an agreement never existed. So far, Faruk Turgut has not reacted to these allegations.
The actor also took the opportunity to talk about his recent international successes. He said that the historical series El Turco has also been sold in the United States, while Sandokan, in which he plays the lead role, has received positive reviews in Italy and is expected to be launched more widely in the international market.
"I'm so happy with where I've gotten in my career that whatever damage you've done is a good thing you did ," he wrote.
The controversy between Can Yaman and Faruk Turgut has brought back into focus tensions that date back years, becoming one of the most commented topics in recent days in Turkish media and social networks.
