Famous American producer Sean Diddy Combs will be released from prison on May 8, 2028.
He was sentenced by a federal court to 50 months in prison after being found guilty of transportation for the purpose of prostitution, while he was acquitted of more serious charges of sex trafficking and racketeering which could have brought a life sentence.
The Federal Bureau of Prisons has made public the release date after deducting the days spent behind bars from the sentence, as well as calculating the days that are automatically deducted from the period of pre-trial detention.
He is currently being held at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, where he was sent in September of last year.
His legal representatives have not yet commented on the institution where Combs will serve the remainder of his sentence, while it has been confirmed that his defense team has filed an appeal against the court's decision.
Combs' attorney, Nicole Westmoreland, previously told CNN that they had been in communication with the Trump administration about a possible pardon. Trump has publicly acknowledged the request but has said he has no plans to pardon him.
During the trial, numerous pieces of evidence and testimony were presented documenting his abusive behavior towards his former partner Cassie Ventura and other women involved. In his ruling, Judge Arun Subramanian described Combs' behavior as an abuse of power and through it the subjugation of the victims. In addition to the criminal sentence, Combs faces 70 civil lawsuits for abuse and sexual assault, charges that he has vehemently denied.
