The voting process in the early parliamentary elections in Kosovo has closed, while attention is now focused on counting the votes and preserving the integrity of the electoral process.

Immediately after the end of the vote, political and institutional leaders reacted by calling on commissioners and observers to guarantee a regular, transparent process and in accordance with the will of the citizens.

The Vetëvendosje Movement's candidate for prime minister, Albin Kurti, stated that the legitimacy of the process depends on protecting the citizens' vote.

" The will of the citizens expressed in today's elections is inside the ballot boxes. Its protection is an inseparable condition of the legitimacy and credibility of the electoral process ," declared Kurti.
He emphasized that the responsibility now falls on the commissioners and observers who are following the counting process.

" At these moments, our eyes, ears and attention are on you, commissioners and observers. A high institutional and noble responsibility weighs upon you ," he said.

Meanwhile, the Democratic Party of Kosovo candidate, Bedri Hamza, thanked citizens for their participation and the way the electoral process was conducted in the country.

" The citizens of Kosovo once again showed citizenship, responsibility and democratic culture. In a calm and dignified process, they proved that they believe in the power of the vote and in the right to decide on the future of our country ," declared Hamza.

The PDK leader requested that the counting process be carried out with maximum care and that every vote be respected until the final result is announced.

" Democracy does not end with casting the vote in the box, but continues with its respect. Let us together ensure that every vote of citizens is preserved and protected until the end ," he said.

After the closing of the polling centers, the acting President of Kosovo, Albulena Haxhiu, also reacted, describing the counting as the decisive phase of the electoral process.

" After the closing of the polling stations, the crucial phase of the electoral process begins, the counting. Every vote is the voice of the citizens and must be treated with the highest responsibility ," Haxhiu wrote.

She called on all responsible persons to make maximum efforts to protect the integrity of the process and the will of the citizens.

" I invite all responsible persons to engage maximally with dedication, vigilance and professionalism in protecting the will of the people and the integrity of the process ," she said.

With the end of voting, Kosovo is now entering the vote counting phase, while political parties and institutions are calling for calm, transparency and respect for the results that will come out of the ballot boxes.
