The KF Fushë Kosovë footballer has been confirmed as one of two young men from Kosovo who tragically lost their lives on Wednesday at the 'Rana e Hedhun' beach in Shëngjin, after being swept away by powerful sea waves.
In a message published on social media, the club expressed its deep sorrow for the loss of Ali, emphasizing that he will always be remembered as a good boy, smiling and full of positive energy.
"With deep sorrow we received the news of your passing. We will always remember you as a good boy, smiling and full of life. Your memory will always remain in our hearts. Rest in peace, Leon," reads the reaction of KF Fushë Kosovës.
The news of Leon Ali's death has caused great sadness among teammates, friends and the sports community in the country, who have expressed their condolences to his family and relatives.
The young people were part of a group of tourists from Kosovo, who had come by bus to visit Shëngjin and the surrounding areas.
Leonid Aliu and Jetmir Binaku are suspected of having gone in to bathe along with 3 other friends, Dion Myftari, Arbër Beqaj and Drilon Rrustemi, but were swept away by strong waves. There were some citizens who were in the area with Jet Skis, who, in cooperation with the police, managed to pull the five young men out of the sea, two of whom showed no signs of life.
