The acting Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, during an interview for Channel 10, among other things, spoke about relations with Edi Rama, the head of the Albanian government. He said that relations with Rama remain good, but there are differences in approaches to some political issues.
Kurti emphasized that cooperation between Kosovo and Albania does not necessarily mean complete agreement on every position.
According to him, one of the areas where positions do not fully coincide is related to the way relations with Serbia are handled. Kurti emphasized that Kosovo and Albania may have different perspectives on some regional developments, due to the different realities and experiences they have.
"We have good relations with Edi Rama. This does not mean that we agree on all issues, especially for example with our stance towards official Belgrade. We have a different sensibility, that's where we differ," Kurti said.
Kurti-Rama relations have had occasional ups and downs, especially during the 'Open Balkan' period, which the Prime Minister of Kosovo did not join. But not only that. Kurti on more than one occasion came under pressure from Rama to accept the Belgrade dialogue, while EU sanctions were also applied to Kosovo, which led to another freeze in relations between the two governments.
