Former Austrian diplomat Wolfgang Petritsch said that holding consecutive elections has caused a major loss of trust in Kosovo.
Petritsch assessed that even countries that do not yet recognize Kosovo, given the political situation in the country, may strengthen their stance against accepting its independence.
"What can we say, there has been no stable government for a year and a half. They can't elect a president. It's a dramatic loss of confidence that Kosovo is trying to be a serious state," Petritsch told rel.
He emphasized that citizens should hold the party that runs the country's institutions accountable.
"I don't want to get involved in domestic politics and I don't know how the next elections will be held, but citizens must tell the dominant party and its leader that it is time to act, to do something," he emphasized.
