Taulant Balla, head of the Socialist Party Parliamentary Group, has called on MP Marjana Koçeku, otherwise known as 'Neomalsorja', to hand over her legislative mandate, as it belongs to the Socialists.
Balla's reaction came after Koçek previously declared that she would be the voice of the protesters in the Assembly and that she would register as an independent MP.
"Marjana Koçeku should hand over her mandate, as she belongs to the Socialist Party," said the head of the Socialist Party Parliamentary Group. Koçeku won the mandate of MP in the Shkodra district, where she was ranked first on the multi-name list. Under these conditions, Balla stated that she was not elected as a legislator by being voted directly by the citizens, but by the Socialist Party.
Through a reaction on social media, Koçeku wrote that her ideals and values remain the same as they were before she joined a political force, hinting that she has decided to distance herself from the Socialist Party.
"From today I am an independent MP. My ideals and values are those that I have had and expressed since before I was associated with a party. They define my boundaries," she writes in her post.

Balla duhet te na sqaroje nese ai mendon qe mandati i deputetit i perket partise ose me sakte kryetarit qe zoteron listat e mbyllura apo popullit qe i voton si listat e mbyllura ashtu edhe deputetet e listave te hapura. Ja perse ndryshimi i Kodit Zgjedhor eshte gjeja kryesore qe duhet te dale nga protesta, qe mandati i deputetit mos jete placke pazari dhe vota e qytetarit mos jete mjet pushteti ekskluziv i kryetarit. Dhe mos dali Balla i rradhes me kerkesa patetike te ketij niveli ku deputeti duhet te dorezoje mandatin meqe nuk eshte ne nje linje me partine. Ne meritojme njerez qe te na perfaqesojne ne, jo kryetarin apo dhezenesit e tij. Kjo vlen per te gjitha partite, sidomos PS dhe PD, kryetaret e te cilave jane te investuar qe ky kod i gatuar prej tyre te qendroje sic eshte. Sa per Marjanen, per aq kohe sa ka sakrifikuar emrin dhe integritetin e saj me PS-ne, e meriton ta mbaje mandatin dhe ta perdore si duhet, edhe sikur te jete e vetmja vote kunder ne ate parlament. Uroj qe ta ndjekin mjaftueshem te tjere per te bere ndryshimin!
