Edi Rama convenes the Socialist Party Parliamentary Group

The Socialist Party Parliamentary Group met today, a meeting chaired by Prime Minister Edi Rama.

The meeting takes place on the eve of Tuesday's plenary session and is expected to focus on the majority's positions and discussions regarding the issues foreseen on the Assembly's agenda.

It remains to be seen what Prime Minister Edi Rama's messages to the MPs will be, in light of recent political developments and the protests that have been going on for four weeks on "Dëshmorët e Kombit" Boulevard and on the streets of Tirana.

Agenda of the plenary session

The Parliament of Albania will meet in plenary session on June 30, 2026, at 10:00, in accordance with the official order based on the Rules of Procedure of the Parliament and the calendar of works for the period June 15 - July 3, 2026.

The agenda includes the review of several draft laws and draft resolutions related to the main public administration institutions, as well as their annual reports.

The session will begin with the approval of the minutes of the meeting of June 18, 2026, as well as the usual procedural announcements.

Afterwards, the deputies will review the draft law "On official controls and other official activities", which aims to strengthen the implementation of legislation in the field of food, animal health and welfare, as well as the protection of plants and agricultural products in Albania.

Next, the Assembly is expected to discuss and evaluate the annual activity for 2025 of several institutions, including:

Commissioner for Civil Service Supervision;
Commissioner for the Right to Information and Protection of Personal Data;
Department of Public Administration;
Competition Authority;
Public Procurement Commission;
Authority for Information on Documents of the Former State Security;
Institute for Studies on the Crimes and Consequences of Communism;
Deposit Insurance Agency.
