From the cell where he has been held since October 2024, Ilir Meta has reacted to the extension of the investigation by SPAK against him by another 6 months.
Meta denounces that he is being subjected to political persecution without any valid evidence and that his detention is only to hinder his opposition activity. He accuses the justice system of arbitrariness and political manipulation, promising that his causes will emerge victorious and political pluralism will return to Albania.

Although on May 27, 2025, I was informed of a completely political accusation, which was formulated at the Socialist Party Assembly on May 7, 2022 ???? https://ëëë.youtube.com/ëatch?v=jso2z85dz04, "surprisingly" yesterday I was informed of another extension of the investigation deadline to supposedly collect sufficient evidence, while the investigations against me began in December 2019 under the special care of Charles McGonigal, the FBI chief detective corrupted by Edi Rama.
There is no continent, country, island, or bank left in the world that hasn't delivered a letter to me.
The conclusion is known, zero facts, zero evidence, zero illegal penny, zero illegal cents, zero illegal assets of Ilir Meta discovered throughout SPAK's 6-year investigative activity regarding my 32-year public activity.
To justify my illegal detention in prison, I am waiting for a letter of recommendation from people who enjoy complete freedom and who I wish to always enjoy freedom and health.
