The largest rally of the week ended without incident, as thousands of citizens sent a strong message against the political establishment that has dominated the country for decades.
After nearly four hours of uninterrupted protest, the rally held in front of the Prime Minister's Office, which marked the culmination of a week of civic mobilization in Tirana and several cities across the country, has ended. Thousands of citizens filled the boulevard in front of the government building, while at the end of the protest the crowd began to leave towards Skanderbeg Square.
Unlike previous days, the organizers called for no roadblocks or clashes with law enforcement after the rally, demanding that the protest end peacefully. The call was respected by the participants, who gradually dispersed after the speeches ended.

But if the protest ended without tension, its message was among the strongest articulated so far. During the four hours, not only calls against Edi Rama's government were heard in the square. The banners and chants also dominated messages against the traditional opposition and the figures who have dominated Albanian political life for decades.
"Rama is gone", "Rama in prison, Berisha in prison", "Resignation" and "Albania is not for sale" were some of the slogans that accompanied the protest until its final moments.
This is also why many participants consider the movement to be something bigger than a regular protest. What began as a civic reaction has turned into a revolt against a political system that, according to the protesters, has produced corruption, emigration, poverty and a lack of hope for the younger generations.

One of the most significant elements of the rally was the fact that participation did not decline as the hours passed. On the contrary, young citizens continued to join the protest throughout its duration, while support was also found in other cities across the country and from the Albanian diaspora in Europe.
After seven days of protests, the message that emerged from the boulevard was clear: a large part of the citizens are not just demanding a change of government, but a change of a political model that has dominated Albania for more than three decades. And this is precisely the message conveyed by Saturday's protest: the dissatisfaction is no longer directed only at one party or one leader, but at the entire political establishment that has governed the country in transition.
As the square emptied and the protesters peacefully left, the strongest message of the week remained: Albania demands change. Tomorrow the revolution continues...
Atehere do ndergjegjsohet por do jete shume vone. Tanime eshte direkte per te, me emer.
