Former Democratic MP Ervin Salianji has once again criticized the leader of the Democratic Party. He stated that Berisha no longer enjoys the support of the majority of Democrats and that he has avoided a real political competition within the party.
Salianji questioned the turnout figures in the DP voting process for the elections of members of the party's National Council, claiming that they do not match the real situation on the ground.
"What is evident is that Berisha does not have the support of the Democrats and for the first time in 30 years he has not preferred to enter the race. He invented rivals with a few, while in this case he rejected them. I have the polling centers monitored with cameras, but how can there be 37 thousand voters when he comes out with 50 people every Monday", declared Salianji.
The former Democratic MP also criticized Berisha's lack of political and programmatic alternatives in the face of Prime Minister Edi Rama, arguing that without a new vision, the opposition cannot win the elections.
"How will Berisha win with Rama, did he make any concrete proposals, what is new? Berisha has been abandoned by the Democrats and has become ridiculous in Albania. Berisha is a usurper and is holding Albania hostage for his own interests. Berisha is the main guarantor that Rama will remain in power," he told "Abc News".
Salianji also referred to the statements of representatives of international partners, emphasizing that the Democratic Party needs a new direction.
"How will Berisha win the elections? The CDU MP said exactly that a new leader must be elected. Berisha has been a chronic loser since 2013 ," declared Salianji.
