It seems that the civic protest is continuing to take its place on Prime Minister Edi Rama's agenda. After the statements of the previous day in Elbasan, the head of government has continued from Shkodra to respond to the accusations and criticisms coming from the protesters, while he has once again attacked the public figures who have lined up in support of the movement.
At the event organized on the occasion of the 35th anniversary of the Socialist Party, Rama reacted to the accusations that were articulated during the protests, where the government was described by various participants as disconnected from the interests of citizens.
" We are truly a force that has no reason to claim that we have done everything well, but no one can come out and say that we are traitors, that we are destroyers, because we are patriots and we are saviors ," Rama declared.
The Prime Minister brought as an argument the reconstruction after the earthquake and the transformations of recent years in the country, insisting that his government cannot be considered responsible for the destruction of Albania.
But a good part of his speech was again dedicated to public figures, influencers, and bloggers who have supported the protest on social media.
" Of course, if you have all the opportunities to go to Paris or Dubai every weekend, you're welcome to go. But you don't have to tell Albanians that I want the coast there to be completely virgin. I don't want to see any construction there. I want the sand there, I want the flamingos, I want the trees, because I'll go out there in a bikini ," said Rama.
The statements come at a time when the protest is not only not fading, but is gaining participation day by day. While thousands of citizens continue to gather in Tirana and political demands are becoming increasingly stronger, the prime minister seems to have chosen to personally enter the debate, responding almost daily to the accusations coming from protesters and their supporters.
