Prime Minister Edi Rama has reacted again to the coverage in the Greek media of the debate over the tourist project in Zvërnec, ironically describing it as an alliance between opponents of the investment and the media in Greece.
In a post on social media, Rama also shared the comment of an Albanian journalist, who asks why the Greek media have not shown the same interest in the cases of Albanians who have lost their lives in Greek prisons, while they have reported extensively on the protest held in Zvërnec.
The head of government linked the huge reaction to the project that, according to him, aims to take Albania to a new level in the tourism industry.
" Oh my brother, that's normal, because for the first time in 35 years Albania is aiming for the Olympus of tourism with a dizzying project, which no one else in this part of the world has. And now that the project is approaching its day of publication, the eagles have come out to protect the homeland from the 4 billion Euros investment of American and Qatari partners ," Rama writes.
He further dwells on the media coverage the issue has received in Greece, considering it a paradox.
" And for the first time in 35 years, the Greek media and pages with millions of followers in Greece are with the eagles to save our homeland from the arrival of the most prestigious hotels in the world, from 10 thousand quality jobs, from the increase in gross national product by 4% by 2030, the increase in per capita income, the increase in salaries and pensions (like in Montenegro, for example, far from it), from the increase in the property value of every Vlora resident and not only, from the expansion of the value chain for farmers, fishermen, drivers and all the entities connected to that chain, from world figures from art, sports, fashion, business, who would come and sleep, some would even buy houses in Vlora... ", he continues.
Rama further uses ironic tones regarding the way, according to him, Albania is perceived by critics of the project.
" Leaving these, why is there little to save Albania from the further growth of its international image, which has already been greatly exaggerated, because in the eyes of the world Albania must be mafia, corruption, scum. That is why all the eagles in protest today, because you have guaranteed coverage from the Greek media, two birds with one stone , that is," the prime minister concludes.
