The situation in Fier is changing, the famous Zegjineja risks remaining outside

The May 11 elections have brought surprises in every district, but the race for the preferential vote in Fier is drawing particular attention for an interesting phenomenon: while the traditional candidates of the Socialist Party have managed to receive thousands of votes, one of the most popular figures on the network – Zegjine Çaushi – remains out of the game.

Klevis Jahaj and Asfloral Haxhiu lead with over 11,000 votes each, followed by Ceno Klosi (7,616), Elton Korreshi (5,627), and Antoneta Dhima (5,236). At the bottom of the list, with only 3,163 votes, stands Zegjine Çaushi – a name that became known more for her ironic videos and spontaneous stances on social media than for any serious political or public activity.

The “Zegjine” phenomenon spread quickly and created a sensation among the public, but it seems that the digital fame has not translated into electoral capital. The Fier electorate has preferred other, more traditional figures, refusing to turn this viral character into a member of parliament. This shows that despite the buzz on social media, the vote at the ballot box remains more conservative and requires more than a presence on TikTok.
