Threats against Koçek, Berisha: Rama is behind it, he only knows the law
Sali Berisha

The Chairman of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, condemned during the meeting of the DP Parliamentary Group the threats that were addressed to MP Marjana Koçeku, known as Neomalësorja, who recently left the Socialist Party.

Berisha accused Prime Minister Edi Rama of being behind these threats, claiming that the head of government is acting according to "mafia law" and not according to the law.

"Edi Rama's threats are reprehensible. The threats made to MP Koçeku are absolutely reprehensible, it only shows the mafia law. He has only one law, the mafia law ," said the leading democrat.

During his speech, he called on democrats and citizens to join the announced protest, emphasizing that it is not a partisan protest, but a civic one.

"I congratulate the high school students, students, teachers, and lecturers for supporting the protest. You may have party convictions, you may be upset, but it is a protest of citizens, they are doing their duty as citizens. So my call is, everyone, big and small, that it is peaceful and unique, everyone in the protest. The DP is not its organizer, the DP absolutely has full respect for the citizens, while their agenda against Rama is our effort for years, their agenda for laws is absolutely our agenda, we have also paid the price for the agenda. Their agenda against corruption is our agenda," he said.

The Democratic leader also leveled accusations against Finance Minister Petrit Malaj regarding the publication in Parliament of a list of 17 companies owned by Mundësia Party MP Agron Shehaj. According to Berisha, the action constituted blackmail and a violation of the law.

"Do you remember when I told you that he belongs to Lubia (for the minister), he released the list of companies of the deputy there (Agron Shehaj), I told you that he belongs to Lubia, as a spy agent he released the list there. These are bandits, this was blackmail, he deserves to have his mandate removed and go where he belongs. There are laws here, these people exceed every kind of limit, Minister of Finance and release the list, threaten. It has never happened before, how can a minister come out, they leave no stone unturned just to blackmail. If he has not paid his taxes, go and punish him, if it is not legal, block him. But Lubia is in command there, I tell you, he has sent a speedboat to Greece, a full speedboat, he has made trips, I tell you this, her asylum is also being prepared. I assure you that very soon you will find out that she has been installed in another country, yes", he said.

Berisha also commented on SPAK's mega-operation against international drug trafficking, praising the work of the Special Prosecution Office, but at the same time accusing the government of links to organized crime.

"Salvator Alia had 50 tons of drugs. Imagine what power he had against the opposition. Inspired and supported by Ergys Agasi and Edi Rama. Albanians understood that Rama's regime is swimming in drugs and crime. If the members of these organizations are dozens and dozens, to date in Albania those who have been arrested are less than the fingers of one hand. As Nikolla has emphasized, one cannot work with that state because they directly provide information, gangs and criminals. It is clear what a major danger Rama's regime represents, not only for Albanians, but for Europe and the world. In Ecuador, Albanians killed the rival candidate, in Colombia as well, all of them have Rama's office open, with Ergys Agasi as coordinator. These people with 50 tons of drugs, what are they?" said Berisha.
