The leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, held a conversation with farmers in the Berat region this afternoon, where in addition to agricultural issues, concerns were also raised about the internal situation in the party.
During the meeting, some of the farmers openly expressed their dissatisfaction with the leadership of the DP and the divisions within it. One of them criticized the attitude towards figures within the party, citing the case of Ervin Salianj.
"We call it the Democratic Party that has democracy within itself. I don't believe that a different opinion should be self-excluded," he said, emphasizing that internal conflicts do not serve to strengthen the party.
Another farmer called on Berisha for more unity, calling for the unification of opinions and factions within the Democratic Party.
"To strengthen the Democratic Party, we must unite opinions and factions," he said.
Meanwhile, Berisha responded firmly, saying that "different opinions will be tolerated, but different attitudes will not be tolerated."
"Anyone who collaborates with the opponent will no longer be part of this party," the leading democrat said.
"This party, from its founding until its end, will be 100 percent open to different opinions without any discussion. But each of us must distinguish between different opinions and different attitudes."
"Let's take them one by one. If you express any kind of opinion in the party forums, no one will have the slightest consequence, but if you cooperate with the opponent, you will no longer be part of this party. If the day before the elections you call for the opposing MP to be voted out, I believe you have broken with this party," Berisha said in his speech.
