Democratic Party MP Dashnor Sula commented on the results of the 2025 elections, underlining that the opposition was rejected by a large part of the citizens through non-voting. According to him, the Socialist Party also had a drop in votes compared to 2021, but has recovered with the diaspora.
" If I'm not mistaken, about 200 thousand votes are missing, which show that they rejected the opposition by not voting. The Socialist Party also had a drop from the 2021 vote. Less than 30 thousand, but it recovered with the diaspora. Let's go back to the analysis that the Socialist Party has used power. There have been problems. Without a doubt, there have been problems. But are these elections fundamentally deformed? They are completely deformed. Do they change the result or not? I give them the right hypothetically, or should I call it the right way as the opposition has it, I'm taking away 1, I'm taking away 2, but not 20 mandates ," said Sula in an interview for "Report TV".
Speaking about internal developments in the Democratic Party and the role of former leader Lulzim Basha, Sula emphasized that he never believed that Sali Berisha had ever left the leadership of the DP.
" I have never believed that Berisha has ever left the leadership of the DP. I am not one of those naive people. Berisha appointed an administrator in his business and the administrator in his business was Lulzim Basha. Basha has never been. This was also demonstrated very clearly after the September 9 decision. The only time that Lulzim Basha became a man, to get out of Mr. Berisha's way, he scolded him and took him wherever he went. Berisha was satisfied with the administrator who stole from a chick and the administrator who made a profit of his own ," he said.
Asked by the journalist whether Flamur Noka or Albana Vokshi have responded to his previous statements, Sula said: " There is no chance they will call my phone. I have respect for Mr. Berisha and for the effect of age, also for the effect of the cooperation that I have had and I have blindly trusted him as my spiritual father and the DP. The two people who are whispering in Berisha's ear and have made Berisha's head go crazy are Noka and Albana Vokshi ."
