Tensions and clashes at the Olympic Park, but the DP retains its mandate...
The Democratic Party has managed to maintain its victory in the Lezha region, albeit with a very narrow result. The diaspora vote brought a large advantage to the Socialist Party, bringing the difference to 73 votes. That was enough for the DP to take victory.
This led to tensions and clashes at the Olympic Park. According to sources, Flamur Noka and Taulant Balla almost came to a physical confrontation, as there were accusations and strong arguments between them.
The DP claimed irregularities and that more ballots were cast. But despite everything, the result could not be overturned.
The DP has secured 4 mandates in Lezha and the SP only 3. From the DP, the following are entering Parliament: Agron Gjekmarkaj, Elda Hoti, Gjin Gjoni and Kastriot Piroli . While from the SP: Ulsi Manja, Ermal Pacaj, Marjeta Neli .
But the diaspora vote will be decisive in terms of the competition within the parties, especially in the SP. As only Tirana remains open in the DP, Jorida Tabaku is nearly 3,000 votes ahead of Ilir Alimehmet.
In the SP, since we have an open race between Ornaldo Rakipi and Xhemal Qefalia. Rakipi has currently secured a mandate and has 9552 votes, while Qefalia has 9423 votes. So, a difference of nearly 100 votes. While the closest is the race between Blerina Gjylameti (5751 votes) and Olta Xhaçka (5732 votes). For the other names, it is unlikely that anything will change, but for the 4 above, the vote of the Diaspora will be decisive.
In Durrës, the race is also open at the bottom of the list. Etleva Budini has secured 4,047 votes, but is followed by Dorina Laçi with 3,164 votes.
In Fier, the game also remains open. Dhimitër Kruti has 3629 votes, but is followed by Ramion Kurti with 3622 votes. So, we have a 7 vote difference.
In Korça, the race remains open between Besa Spaho (6691 votes) and Enslemvera Zake (6239 votes).
The last district where we may see changes from the Diaspora vote is Vlora. Vasil Llajo has secured a mandate with 4894 votes, but is followed by Klevis Kaso with 4623 votes.
