The meeting of the Committee for Europe and Foreign Affairs was interrupted after heated debates between the majority and the opposition. The quarrel began during discussions about the statements of the Serbian Foreign Minister and the position of Albanian diplomacy.
Opposition MPs Tritan Shehu and Albana Vokshi demanded clarification and a reaction from the Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Igli Hasani. During the meeting, there were verbal clashes between Minister Hasani and the opposition MPs, while tensions increased with exchanges of accusations between the parties. Due to the created climate, the Commission meeting was suspended.
Excerpts from the debate:
Hasani : When you lecture me about maintaining patience, it's the end of the world.
Vokshi : Can you calm down? I can see you're embarrassed.
Hasani : I'm so calm, Mrs. Vokshi.
Vokshi : I understand that this language affects you. I understand that, by raising your voice, you are seeking to cover up the Prime Minister's reprehensible silence.
Hasani : I don't hide anyone's silence from me. I understand the desire to use a crazy woman's stupid statement.
Vokshi : She is a minister, she cannot be treated like a crazy individual.
Hasani : Crazy, crazy stink.
Vokshi : You need to react. This commission needs to react.
Hasani : Speak, but don't mess with me.
Vokshi : Conduct yourself properly, maintain ethics and calmness. You insult me, but I do not respond to your insult.
Hasani : Don't mess with me.
Vokshi : The opposition will not shut up.
