Colorful costumes, masks and a festive atmosphere prevail today in the city of Shkodra for the carnival.
"Streets of Shkodra in Carnival" started today in the capital of the north.
Today, February 23, the carnivals have started precisely with the children's parade.
Then all the schools will gather in a common place where one after the other they will put on the stage and their performances, opening the curtain of the celebrations.
Each school will be presented with the respective topics, focusing on different fields such as art, technology, environmental protection, etc. At the end, a jury will also evaluate the best show. But the first day will not be just that. There will also be two workshop corners, such as clowning and mask making, and it will culminate with a light show.
The second day of the "Shkodra Carnival" will be dedicated to young people.
It is envisaged that each high school will go on stage with a performance, based on the minutes set by the organizing group, and of course, at the end of the performances, one more beautiful than the other, a winner will be announced. In addition to youth performances, three workshops will be held, such as clowning, mask making and makeup artist workshops. The parade of couples in costumes and Venetian masks will be followed by a lightshow and a surprise concert.
This is how the second day ends to give way to the third and final day, which will also be the one of the real spectacle, where there will be parades, music, dances, well-known artists and unique elements, such as the burning of the scarecrow in closing of the day. Artists such as Rezarta Smaja, Ketlin Pjalmi, Martina Serreqi or Savjana Vjerdha will perform. At 17:15 the march to the scarecrow will start, which will be followed by a dragon show and the burning of the scarecrow. Meanwhile, on all three evenings there will be celebrations in over thirty bars, restaurants and hotels.
