A fire near the electrical substation in the city of Gjirokastra, in the late hours of this evening, threatened to spread to residential areas.
Immediately after the notification, a fire truck with an intervention group arrived at the scene, which found that the flames had engulfed dry grass outside the substation fence.
Thanks to the quick response, the fire was brought under control and the danger to the substation and nearby homes was avoided.
As a result of the flames, an area of about 200 m² of grass was burned, without causing damage to infrastructure or residential buildings.
