A large fire has engulfed an apartment near the "Tasho" pastry shop in the city of Korça, where a 74-year-old man lost his life as a result of the flames.
According to preliminary information, the victim has been identified as Urim Hysolli, who was inside his apartment at the time the fire broke out. Despite the intervention, the elderly man was unable to escape.
After smoke spread throughout the building, other residents were evacuated by firefighters to avoid danger and ensure their safety, while police forces also arrived at the scene.
Firefighters continue to work to isolate and extinguish the flames, while the investigation team is carrying out the first steps to determine the causes and circumstances of the fire.
