Arrested for hiring Muçi Shaljani at AMP, court releases two police

As a result, no security measures have been imposed on them.

The Criminal Court of Tirana has declared the arrest of two police officers from Police Station No. 3, Bruno Cara and Arshim Zajmi, illegal.

As a result, no security measures have been imposed on them.

The prosecution had requested security measures of "compulsory appearance" and a ban on leaving the country until the investigation is completed.

The two officers have been prosecuted by the Police Supervision Agency (AMP) for allegedly providing work permits to Muci Shaljani, in violation of service rules.

The court is expected to continue investigations to clarify the exact circumstances of the incident.

The two officers were arrested after Tuesday's attack at the Rinas roundabout, where 47-year-old Gilamndo Dani was killed and AMP employee Muçi Shaljani (Sheqeri), 40, was injured.

Meanwhile, today, 4 days after the assassination attempt, Muçi Shaljani passed away at the Trauma Hospital.

He had received several bullets in his vital organs and as a result did not survive.

Why were the two officers of police station no. 3 arrested?

Two police officers, Bruno Caran and Arshim Zajmi, were supposed to check and keep a record of whether or not the candidate for AMP, which in this case was Muçi Shaljani, had criminal records or inappropriate contacts.

According to the verifications that these two officers have carried out in the State Police File, in SK2, which are the internal systems of the state police, and in any kind of classified notification or information, it has not resulted that Muçi Shaljani is unsuitable for this task and for this reason they have given him approval to be included in the AMP.

According to the AMP, these police officers have not fulfilled their legal duty to verify the candidate and prove his credibility.

Bruno Cara had only been on duty as an officer at Police Station No. 3 in the capital for about a month and a half, while Arshim Zajmi had been a police officer for some time.

It is learned that the Tirana Prosecution Office will also investigate other AMP agents for how they were recruited, in addition to Muçi Shaljani, but also for the function that this agency has in recruiting people who want to become part of police surveillance.

Muçi Shaljani, despite having been part of this agency since September, does not appear to have gone to work. Also, according to the prosecution, it does not appear to have received a special permit or report to justify his trip to Barcelona.

This aspect must also be verified, because according to the Prosecutor's Office, such a thing did not happen, so they had no knowledge of the location of the AMP agents, what would be the competence of the director or head of the sector to know and receive notification whether or not they are at work.
