A conflict between neighbors in the Treviso area, Italy, has spiraled out of control after a 70-year-old man attempted to hit his neighbor, a 50-year-old of Albanian origin, with an excavator, even managing to lift him into the air with the bucket of the vehicle.
The incident took place in Paese, where according to Italian media, the collision was a continuation of an earlier conflict between them. After another argument, the elderly man got on the excavator and initially tried to run over the 50-year-old. Then, the situation escalated when he grabbed him with a bucket and lifted him about 3 meters above the ground.
The intervention of the people present, through shouts and screams, caused the 70-year-old to push the Albanian, who works as a construction entrepreneur, to the ground.
However, the incident did not end there. When the police arrived at the scene and asked to be escorted to the police station, the elderly man reacted violently, threatening and physically attacking the officers. One of the officers was kicked.
In the end, the 70-year-old was arrested for violence and resisting law enforcement. The following day, he appeared before the court, which confirmed the arrest and imposed the measure of "obligation to report" to the police every day. The next hearing is scheduled for September 26.
According to witnesses, the conflict between the two neighbors began about two years ago, due to disagreements over property boundaries, gas pipelines and vehicle access. The 50-year-old Albanian claims that he has previously been the subject of injuries and provocations by his neighbor.
Even on the day of the incident, several obstacles placed at the entrance were the cause, which led to the strong collision that almost ended in tragedy.
