Two people have been arrested by police in Durrës after they were carrying weapons without a permit.
The police report that the vehicle in which the arrested were traveling was armored.
The arrested have been identified as Elidon Daçi, 28 years old, and Ernest Beqiri, 29 years old.
During the search of the vehicle, 1 pistol firearm, with a magazine full of cartridges, a suspected forged Russian license plate, and a large amount of money were found.
"They were driving around in an armored and armed vehicle, 2 citizens were caught red-handed and handcuffed. The firearm, a pistol with a magazine and cartridges, the armored vehicle, a forged Russian license plate, a sum of money and 3 cell phones were seized."
As a result of the rapid administration of information obtained in the operational route, regarding 2 citizens who were circulating with firearms in a vehicle, the services of the Durrës Police Commissariat have organized and finalized the police operation codenamed "Blindi".
During the operation, the Police services stopped the armored vehicle with the driver, citizen ED, and the passenger, citizen EB. During the search, 1 firearm, a pistol, with a magazine full of cartridges, a suspected forged Russian license plate, and a sum of money were found in the vehicle.
At the end of the actions, the following citizens were arrested in flagrante delicto:
-ED, 28 years old, resident of Durrës, for the criminal offense of "Unlicensed possession and production of weapons, explosive weapons and ammunition";
-EB, 29 years old, resident of Durrës, for the criminal offense of "Failure to report a crime", the police announce.
