An internationally wanted Albanian was arrested by Greek police at the Kakavija border crossing point, in an operation by police officers of the Passport Control Department in cooperation with the Ioannina Sub-Directorate of Prosecution and Criminal Investigation.
During the police check, it was discovered that the 54-year-old Albanian had a European arrest warrant issued by Italian authorities.
The order related to serious criminal offenses, including murder and grievous bodily harm. The arrested person was accompanied to the competent prosecutor's office, with the aim of initiating proceedings for his extradition.
