Accused of being a contract killer, Sabah Nuzi is locked up in the
Sabah Nuzi

Sabah Nuzi, accused of being a contract killer, will remain isolated in the “41biss” regime. The decision, according to reports, was signed by the Minister of Justice, Toni Gogu. This is the first decision that a prisoner is locked up in the '41biss' regime in the last 5 months. This regime isolates convicted or detained individuals who are known to have strong ties to criminal groups or organizations and who are considered to be of high risk.

The decision to isolate Nuzi in the '41biss' regime came after several operations that have been carried out in Albanian prisons, to find illegal items that manage to enter the cells of characters who are serving sentences, or are in pre-trial detention. Although there is no official information on the reasons why Nuzi was isolated in '41biss', it is reported that a similar practice will be applied to other names in the criminal world, who are considered to be highly dangerous or part of organized crime groups.

Nuzi is accused of the execution of 22-year-old Klevis Lleshi, an event that occurred a year ago. It is suspected that Nuzi committed the murder in exchange for a payment of 50 thousand euros.

Sabah Nuzi has been arrested as part of a criminal group led by Aurel Hoxha, who is considered by investigators to have ordered the assassination of the young man. Investigations have revealed that Nuzi played the role of the executioner, while authorities suspect that he was also involved in other illegal activities within the group.

Nuzi was serving his sentence in Fushë-Krujë prison, but with the return to function of the "41 Biss" regime, he has been transferred to Peqin, where he will remain under strong isolation and control measures.

"41 Biss", inspired by the Italian anti-mafia model, is considered one of the harshest forms of penitentiary supervision.

It is applied to persons suspected of being able to give orders or maintain links with criminal organizations from prison. Prisoners in this regime are isolated from the rest of the convicts, are constantly monitored and have very limited communications.

The reopening of this regime is seen as a strong signal from the Albanian authorities in the fight against organized crime and the crackdown on criminal structures that continue their activities even from prison cells. The Peqin institution is expected to be one of the key points for the implementation of new security measures against names considered to be highly dangerous in the country.
