
A 45-year-old Albanian man, wanted for 4 years for attempted theft, was extradited from Greece today.
Citizen Armand Mevlani was declared wanted by decision of the Gjirokastra Court, as it is suspected that in 2021, in collaboration with other persons, they robbed a jeweler at gunpoint.
"As a result of the coordination of information and operational actions with Greek counterparts, through Interpol Tirana, within the framework of operation "The Wanted", the procedures for the extradition from Greece to Albania of citizen AM, 45 years old, were finalized.
This citizen was declared an international wanted person after the Gjirokastra Court, with the decision dated 14.04.2021, assigned him the security measure "Arrest in prison", for the criminal offense of "Armed Robbery", committed in collaboration.
Citizen AM is accused of having stolen jewelry from a jewelry store in the "18 Shtatori" neighborhood on March 31, 2021, in collaboration with another citizen, by threatening the seller with a firearm," the Police statement states.
