Italian police have cracked down on a drug trafficking ring. Police officers had targeted an Albanian citizen, the owner of a grocery store that, according to investigators, was suspected of being used as a front for cocaine trafficking.
In recent days, police waited until the store opened and then conducted a search, during which they seized approximately 50 grams of cocaine and a precision electronic scale.
The Albanian was arrested and if divided into doses, the drugs would have produced approximately 240 packages for retail sale.
During the same investigation, two individuals residing in Bolzano were charged with possession of narcotics with the intent to traffic.
House searches revealed two blocks of hashish totaling 200 grams and some marijuana in the home of the first suspect. While in the home of the second suspect, a block of 100 grams of hashish and a dose of cocaine were found. The seized hashish would have produced approximately 5,400 doses.
