A serious accident occurred this afternoon in the village of Sovjan, on the Korça-Pogradec road axis, in the territory of the Maliq municipality. A 65-year-old man, who was riding a bicycle, was hit by a "Volkswagen" type vehicle, suffering serious bodily injuries.
According to the official announcement of the State Police, the incident occurred at around 17:20 on December 23, 2025, and the driver of the vehicle has been identified as citizen BM. The victim, IS, around 65 years old, was urgently taken to the Korça hospital, where he is currently in serious condition.
Meanwhile, the driver of the vehicle has been escorted for further legal procedures, while the investigation team is at the scene to clarify the circumstances and causes of the accident.
