The Special Court has postponed the trial of Altin Hajri, accused of the kidnapping and disappearance of Jan Prenga, to January 15. Today's hearing failed due to the absence of one of the members of the trial panel. Hajri is being tried in absentia.
Dritan Rexhepi and 6 other defendants are also being tried separately for this case. Previously, the Special Court of Appeals sentenced Festim Bexhdili, the former gardener of the complex in Shijak where Jan Prenga's body was taken after the kidnapping and from where it later disappeared, to life imprisonment.
According to SPAK, Festim Bexhdili was on the premises of the "Golden" complex when Jan Prenga's body was taken there and helped the kidnappers move the body from one vehicle to another.
During his statements at the trial, Bexhdili admitted that he had persuaded the people who arrived at the complex's garage to move the body, as well as to have provided them with a pickaxe and shovel, as they were armed.
