Beyond the horrific elements of the crime, what shocked me the most were 90% of the commenters who wrote against the Italian girl and supported the perpetrator of the crime, who was the beach guard and since he had found her drunk by the sea, he was "legitimized" to do anything with the Italian minor.
Less than three weeks later… The death of 44-year-old Italian, Edoardo Sarchi , administrator of the Italian-Albanian company Tegola Edilcentro, in the middle of the night in Salari, Tepelena, is more than an isolated tragedy. It is an alarm signal, a bell that rings over a place where organized crime and impunity have built their iron wall against development.
Instead of talking about factories, employment and investments, we are once again witnessing a familiar scenario: a foreign businessman found dead in mysterious circumstances, contradictory testimonies, with several people being escorted and released within hours, foggy evidence, and above all silence from the institutions. The event resembles a grotesque theater where the actors change their versions, while the truth remains behind the scenes.
The Italian businessman was a guest and was invited under the guise of his partners to hunt in the Tepelena area.
A country whose society does not protect the lives of foreign investors cannot claim to protect their capital. Every stone that a businessman like Sarchi places on the foundations of the economy risks collapsing into the mud of impunity. Albania, instead of appearing as a land of opportunity, is increasingly resembling a hunting ground where foreign capital falls prey to darkness.

Whether Sarchi died from a random accident or a planned murder is still unknown. But one thing is clear: the way the Albanian state is handling this issue is as fatal as the wound that took his life.
Every foreign investment that enters Albania resembles a castle built on sand. Every time a crime defies the law and goes unpunished, the foundations of this castle crumble, leaving behind only dust, blood stains, and fear.
But this panorama does not stop with investors. Three weeks ago, an 18-year-old Italian tourist was raped on an Albanian beach – a serious crime, accompanied by the same usual silence. While the state does not guarantee security, Albanian society often slips towards normalizing horror, as if these acts were simply daily news and not wounds that bleed into the country’s image.
If the murder of a foreign businessman and the rape of a tourist are treated as ordinary episodes, then Albania is no longer an investment or tourism destination, but a terrain where crime is planted and the silence of the water makes it flourish.
Perhaps Albanian trust and hospitality are a virtue that belongs to the last century.

De tepelenizimi i policise se shtetit do te sjelle dhe nje pastrim thelbesor ne keto struktura qe bashkepunojne me krimin. Ky eshte realiteti ku qershia mbi torte eahte Drejtori i Pergjithshem Proda, qe nuk ka nevoje t'ja permendim. Duhet kurajo ti thuash gjerar Kreshnik.
