A modern airport like TIA is also a clear indicator of the country's development, having a direct impact on Albania's European integration process. The standards of an airport with modern services and infrastructure are essential for a country aspiring to join the European Union.

'TIA', the only real success of the Rama government in 12 years

Tirana International Airport (TIA); a success story that reflects the development and growth of Albania's infrastructure capacities. With a significant increase in passenger numbers and profits, TIA has shown how proper management and strategic investments can turn a sector into an economic engine.

According to the latest statistics, in 2023 alone, the airport welcomed over 7.2 million passengers, an increase of 40% compared to 2022. This unstoppable growth has also been reflected in the company's profits, where in 2022, TIA reported over 31 million euros in net profit, a figure that was likely exceeded in 2023. An airport that once had only a few routes and few travel options, today offers connections to over 90 different destinations and has diversified air operators, increasing competition and reducing fares for Albanian travelers.

TIA has undergone a significant transformation thanks to continuous investments. Some of the key points of the airport's development are:

Terminal expansion: Adding passenger check-in areas and increasing waiting capacities in the departure and arrival halls.

Runway and safety modernization: Investments in radar technology, lighting and safety systems.

Increasing aircraft parking capacities: Adding parking spaces for aircraft, enabling the operation of more airlines.

Improving infrastructure for passengers: Opening new lounges, Duty-Free shops and gastronomy facilities to provide better quality services.

Automation of services: Implementation of self-check-in systems and automation of the passport control process to reduce waiting times.

'Tirana International Airport' has marked one of the most significant achievements in the development of transport infrastructure in Albania. Investments in the expansion of terminals, the modernization of services and the increase in flight destinations have contributed significantly to the economic and tourist development of the country.

A modern airport like TIA is also a clear indicator of the country's development, having a direct impact on Albania's European integration process. The standards of an airport with modern services and infrastructure are essential for a country aspiring to join the European Union, as they directly affect the mobility of citizens and the economic development of the country.

With the continuous increase in air traffic, the airport must continue to expand and modernize its infrastructure to guarantee a more efficient and high-standard service for passengers. And while Edi Rama comes out and talks about the successes of the government, we must emphasize that the only real success of his government in 12 years is Tirana International Airport. If this model of success extends to other sectors, it could serve as a catalyst for the transformation of Albania into a modern transport hub in the region. /Pamphlet
