
The Tirana region holds the largest share of lending in the country to individuals, with nearly 70% of the total. However, this year, Elbasan has had the tendency to seek money from banks, with an increase of around 7.5%.
Among the 12 regions in the country, Tirana holds the record in terms of loans received by individuals, while Elbasan had the highest increase in loans granted by banks in the first half of the year.
In Elbasan, they are increasingly seeking loans to finance consumption or purchase a home, bringing the total loan to 8.8 billion lek, an increase of about 7.5%.
According to the latest data from the Bank of Albania, Tirana leads in loans to individuals with 230 billion lek, but with an increase of only 6.1%.
The capital is followed by Durrës with 22 billion lek in loans and an increase of 5.4% compared to the first quarter, while in third place comes Vlora with 9.9 billion lek and an increase of 5.4%.
The amount of loans to farmers reaches a value of 9.3 billion lek, increasing by 5.2%, while in Elbasan it has reached 8.8 billion lek with a record increase of 7.4%.
Credit growth by region has followed the same trend as in 2023, with Elbasan holding first place for high growth rates in the first half of the year.
