After several months of growth, it seems that March has not attracted as many tourists this year. Individually or in organized groups, although over half a million foreigners visited the country in the month we left behind, according to the Institute of Statistics, this indicator fell by 2.7% compared to the same period a year ago.
In March 2025, 95% of foreign nationals entering Albania are from the European region. Southern Europe accounts for 80% of foreign nationals entering the European continent, followed by Western Europe with 7%. But citizens from Africa, Asia and the Middle East have also recorded an increase in these first months of the year.
The purpose of entry into Albanian territory of foreign citizens, in 96% of cases, is for personal purposes, where entries for vacation, visiting relatives, etc. dominate.
Although fewer foreigners have come for vacation, the number of those coming for business or health purposes has also decreased.
On the other hand, Albanians did not stop their vacations or visits abroad, even for business, in March. 621,777 Albanian citizens are counted as having left the territory of Albania, marking an increase of 2.9%, compared to March 2024./ TCH
