Starting tomorrow, Hellenism in Albania will have a new representation in the Assembly. Anna Partali-Daiko, originally from Leshnica e Poshtme, will receive the parliamentary mandate for the “Albania Becomes” initiative of Adriatik Lapaj. This event coincides with a historical anniversary: a full century after Nikola Ev. Lezo, another fellow countryman from Leshnica enters high Albanian politics.
Unlike the names of the transitional nomenclature, Partali-Daiko comes from a family persecuted for its beliefs. Her grandfather, Vasil Partali, known as “Liatua”, died in the cells of Spaç for his Greek Orthodox beliefs. The family of her husband, Spiro Daiko, from Shën Vasili i Himara, was also severely persecuted by the communist regime, suffering in the same camps.
Her mandate was not easy. On August 25, 2025, the CEC upheld the decision of the KAS, guaranteeing Partali-Daikos the sole mandate of the initiative's list. Adriatik Lapaj's attempt to transfer the mandate to his cousin, Kleana Xhuveli, failed.
For Leshnica and the Greek community, her election is an act of moral justice. A woman who carries the memories of persecution and the sacrifices of generations on her shoulders, now represents in the Assembly a community with deep historical roots.
The Brotherhood of Leshniciots welcomed her election as MP, stating that they will support her every step of the way. “We will be by her side in all efforts for the democratization of Albania,” emphasized the Brotherhood’s president, Jorgo St. Ziogas.
With her oath, Anna Partali-Daiko represents a new generation of politicians, called to connect historical memory with hope for a better future, both for the Greek minority and for Albanian society as a whole. / Prepared by: Pamphlet
