Democrats are trying to keep the focus on the Epstein files and potentially damaging revelations about the US president.
In a new post on social media, they highlight an email from 2017 in which Jeffrey Epstein wrote that Trump was the worst man he had ever met.
"I've met some very bad people, none as bad as Trump. Not a good cell in his body... so yes, dangerous ," Epstein wrote.

He went on to describe Trump with one word:

On the other hand, White House press secretary Caroline Leavitt has claimed that the Epstein story is a distraction from the way Chuck Schumer and the Democrats were defeated by President Trump and the Republicans in the fight to shut down the government.
The government shutdown, the longest in U.S. history, ended after eight Democrats crossed the floor on Sunday to vote with Republicans on a funding bill.
