Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir has urged Benjamin Netanyahu to attack Hezbollah, despite President Donald Trump's request.
In a post on "X", Itamar Ben-Gvir told Netanyahu that a strong prime minister says 'no' to the American president when necessary. He emphasized that now is the time to say no to Trump.
"Mr. Prime Minister. You said that a strong prime minister says 'yes' to the President of the United States when possible and 'no' when necessary. This is the moment to say 'no' to our friend, President Trump. Now is the time to do what is required and necessary to strike Hezbollah, free the hands of our fighters, and restore security to the north," he wrote on X.
The intervention comes after Donald Trump spoke with the Israeli prime minister and Hezbollah through intermediaries. The US president declared that "Israel will not attack them and they will not attack Israel."
