A major police operation took place at Winterthur train station on Thursday morning, where a 31-year-old man attacked several passersby with a knife. Four people were reportedly injured, one of them seriously.
According to eyewitnesses, a man attacked several people with a knife. Footage released shows a man running out of the station building. As he leaves, he shouts: “Allahu Akbar.” “He had a knife in his hand,” writes Blick. According to reports, several people were injured.
"I arrived at the train station at around 8:20 a.m. About 30 meters away, I heard a man behind me shouting 'Allahu Akbar' five or six times in a very intense and agitated manner," an eyewitness reported.
The incident occurred shortly before 08:30. The perpetrator is reported to be a Swiss citizen. The Zurich Cantonal Police confirmed the attack. The injured are Swiss citizens aged 28, 43 and 52. The motive for the attack remains unclear. Police are investigating in all directions.
